Field and crop irrigation

| [Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe |
Here's a shot from a very short trip to Zhejiang province in China over Christmas 2006/7. It's a very plain setting... I spent about an hour going around observing the local villagers constructing irrigation ditches in their small village.
Once the ice was broken, these people were very friendly and had no concerns about being subject in my photos.
It was a really nice day :)
P.S. I think this is actually a little too dark... didn't realise until I got it to work! I'll probably do a quick WS when I get home with a slightly brighter version. |

This photo looks great in B/W.
You are right, it is too dark (no white in the picture, just black and gray). More contrast needed, much more...
Hi Lewis!
Excellent b&w picture and excellent daily life scene. The timing and the composition is great! It is a little bit dark, but that doesn't bother me at all. I always prefer pictures darker that brighter. Congratulations!
Best regards,
Hercules
Yeah, it's a little too dark, but the only thing that bothers me is the darkness of the man on the left. I think you need to have a little bit more detail in him. I actually quite like the dark silohuette of the other man. Its a nice contrast to his spade and the sky. I also like the haystack and the house in the background.
Thanks
Brilliant composition. Not at all dark...just the perfect mood in dark and subtle light. Those haystacks remind me of Monet (though in the dark), and their contrast with the modern buildings is excellent.
Hello Lewis
Very good photo!! The moment as you show to us him they is very hard and laborious.
Beautiful experience!!
