[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
The dragon is the symbol of the emperor in China, and nine is an especially auspicious number. There are 2 nine-dragon walls in Beijing: one in Beihai Park and this one, in the Forbidden City, built in 1771 (or 1773) by the Emperor Qianlong of the Qing (Manchu) dynasty. This dragon, representing the emperor, is in the center and is flanked by 4 dragons on each side. The dragons are depicted frolicking in the sea (the blue tiles) and playing with pearls.

Technical: Scanned from a 4x6 print. Noiseware to reduce noise and sharpen the image. Levels to add some brightness to the colors.
