This is one of 10 tallest peaks of the Meili Snow Mountain range between Yunnan and Tibet in China. The altitude of the peak is about 6700 m (22000 feet). We were on a hiking tour in southern Yunnan and was very lucky to arrive this area on a clear day. Our guide told us to get up at 6 am to savour the rare opportunity of viewing the "golden peaks" of the snow mountains. We were certainly not disappointed.
The view was even more spectacular 10 minutes after this shot was taken when all the peaks of the mountain range were lit up like they were on fire. |
