Photographer's Note
On entering, I walked up the steps to the second level, guided by local youths. I was able to look through a window, similar to this one and down on the entrance hallway. I was surprised at the quality of the brickwork and the inclusion of a recessed arch - a true arch - in the simple design. I thought it all very elegant, more a home than a fort.
