Chuikhim village - the terrace farms spread across the hills of Chuikhim gave it a variety in color and dimensions. It is difficult to raise crops in these hilly regions as the soil is hard and rocky. The villagers practice step farming, where they cut the hills as steps and grow crops on these terraces. Maize, corn and rice are the main choices of crop.
This photograph was taken from a height as we ascended towards the Chuikhim top and what I liked about this was the semi bird's eye view we got of the place, the variety of colors that we could see. Almost all shades of green from an artist's pallate was spread in front with a backdrop of blue sky with scattered white clouds. |
