The matri murti can't be made of anything but river clay. Before the puja, Durga is mrinmoyee (made of earth) and after her invocation she turns chinmoyee (sensate and live). On Vijaya Dasami she returns to the earth from where she is born.
This was taken before any kind of decoration into it.The putul (idol) durga and all her accoutrements were made of clay in those days (few years before). Shola (pith), and gold or silver and rangta (tinsel) for decorating the idols came much later. |

Hello Sunandan,
the composition is very very good here but the eye on the laft has the perfect focus which is in the shade...but the attention ia largely taken away by the eye on the right giving it a blurred look over all..!! but a very very good try...!!!
