The second shot from the idol making town Kumurtuli..!!
Here one can see Goddess Durga in total rage with the demon near her left feet and the lion which is the Vahan(a specific animal is used by every god/goddess for transport)
This place is so very much crowded with lots of different idols of Goddess Durga that it some times becomes very difficult to even get near her..so I took this shot standing out of the shop..!! U can see other idols also in the shot..!
The blue cast which is seen all over is due to a blue plastic sheet on the roof and the sunlight coming through them..!!
Jai Maa Durga..!!!!!!!! |

Hi Indro,
The battle to protect the good..
Here the artist's expression is well captured within the tonal beauty.
Respects,

Indranil- Gr8 expressions of the idols in hues of blue- the artist has done his work perfectly.
I specially like different directions of faces in this image. The plastic sheet has worked wonders for you :)

Welcome brother,
and May the Mother shower her choicest blessings...........
The blue tones of the canvass add a lot to the mysterious effects.
A lot of hands and a lot of snakes......its the perfect management of light under consraint conditions which you have captured beautifully.
From photoshop to Photography!!!!............a journey yet to be witnessed.
What does The> means .....in the title?
Take Care,
Rajeev
Jai maa Durga!!!
nice finishing touch that was!!!
have u tried those serpentine lanes where they stack up the idols one by one under one or two bulbs?? i hope you are taking one attempt there...expecting some more innovative frames in somewhat overexposed place....
:o)

ps: there are more posts on darjeeling..take a look if you can
I: another surreal, almost purgatory-like image - not altogether comforting - but a success as a photograph. best, c
