Photographer's Note

Three more snapshots from the streets of Leh, Ladakh, northwestern India in the autumn of 1985. And being snapshots from the streets, they are completely vanished from my memory. But obviously I did really take them myself. I found the B&W Ilford FP4 negatives in a box in my apartment.

Here is a middle aged man, quietly spinning his prayer wheel while watching me with a hint of a smile, maybe mixed with some disbelief as to why I should bother to take a photo of him. It's hard to estimate if he is still around after more than 33 years. And are the Paramount Dry Cleaners still in business? I will never know.

Here is a larger version.

In the WS is yet another wide view of the main street of Leh with the well known 16th century former Royal Palace in the background, as well as a photo where I zoomed closer to the palace.

This series in B&W will be continued.
