Photographer's Note
We were on our way from Agra to Fatehpur Sikri, and we had decided to leave early.
I saw a woman sweeping around her house, and asked the driver to stop as fast as he could. I tried to stay far, and used a tripod with a long lens by putting the emphasis on the dust which had caught the lateral morning light.
I am dedicating this picture to Claude Renault, who as everyone is well aware, is one of the favorite photographers of TE, and a great fan of India, like me.

un super bravo pour cette superbe photo. j'adore la lumière qui traverse la poussière soulevée. la femme se distingue bien dans ce halo et l'arbre foncé se courbe également.
c'est une compo très réussie.

Fantastic shot... how far were you from the subject ?
I wonder when I see these kind of shots why they even mind to broom the ground outisde their homes when all it does is to move the dust around which fall on the the furniture.
But for the sake of photographers, I just hope they continue to do it..
Wonderful capture of light and perfect composition, I really like that we see the door of the house in the background.

I can't really explain why, but I loved this photo, Izzet. Perhaps it is because of the atmosphere you captured here, or just because of the light, or because of the high quality photo...

It is a great pleasure and an honour visiting your gallery. I had somehow missed out on this picture. As an Indian I am a regular in the Indian gallery and see hundreds of pictures everyday. I wouldn't like to compare but this image of yours should manage to find a place among all-time top 10 list, if ever such a list is to be made. The emphasis on the flying dust in the early morning light simply changes the complexion of this image. I am compelled to add it to my favourites.

Wow, now that's art. One requires a trained eye to spot the potential of a trite scene like this one, and a tripod, and some skill to photograph it.
As a side note, I'm wondering why she's sweeping. She could simply pick up the bits of paper and other refuse...
I see a bed (?) in the middle ground; it surely gets a lot of dust...

Hello Izzet
Beautiful, atmospheric shot. I'm aware that, sitting comfortably in front of my computer, adjudging the beauty of your photograph, I'm in danger of missing the humanity of the situation: this woman's life may well be hard. The dusty conditions may emphasize this, but also add an aesthetic element. Beauty in hardship: difficult, isn't it?
Regards
Will
