THE TRAVERSE
 |
|
| [Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe |
After climbing up the gully we had to cross a rock band and then traverse this slope. It was a 100m traverse and the slope was pretty bad with hard ice in some places. We did not have crampons and the going was tough. The slope ends at a vertical fall. The Parvati Col is around 1 1/2 hours from here.
You can see a member traversing the slope. I took this at 10mm so you get an idea of the scale. It is a fantastic but scary feeling. You feel so timid amongst the huge mountains but at the same time you get a feeling of tremendous ecstasy. It is a feeling I can not describe in words. One has to feel it. |

Am amazing photo and remarkable setting. It does indeed look fantastic yet dangerous. I also like the way you've described being in the mountains. Having hiked a little bit on a few high peaks in the U.S., that is the feeling you get...timidity combined with ecstasy. Great photo.
Hi Rajib,
I'm really spellbound. Really hats off to you. I can fill how tough it is to take some awesome shot with energy level at the end.
At this point how can you remember the technical aspects of the shot(ie, 10 mm to get the scale etc). That's why I always say that high altitude photography is one of the tough jobs in photography.
Eager to view more shots of Parboti Goli.

Hi Rajib,
This is fabulous. You surely are one of the best high altitude photographers I have seen in TE. Awesome and dangerous shots - we can feel the atmosphere and yes it is a tough task to climb and still take these kind of shots. Amazing man - Hat's off to you.
Greetings,
Dhurjati
