This is our camp site at Pana. We stayed at a place about a kilometer before the village – near a small stream. The problem with this village is the children here are too inquisitive. Heard the same thing from other trekkers. We were spared from their attentions because a group of foreigners were camped near us – and they hogged all the attention. How ever we lost our only knife here – which is a real problem. So we had to go to the village in the evening and buy another knife.
This village is the last village for the rest of the trek. This village too has a WLL telephone connection. Also has a small shop which sells the basic items – we bought two kilos of rice here, as some of the shepherds were coming over for dinner by turns. Their dogs also came over for food and stayed with us after both the groups set camp for the day
We got along well with the shepherds – so they camped away from us and gave us the better choice of the place to camp. They also came over to our tent for tea, biscuits, snacks and kerosene. From them we came to know a lot of things about the place, their life, their families and livelihood.
Each morning they left earlier than we did – so here they are passing our campsite on the way to Dhun Kharak. |

Hello Somak
Interesting daily life image...daily life for the locals, interesting for you. Who was carrying all these backpacks? It's always good when interacting with the people. A good note to accompany the picture.
Regards
Angshu

Hi Somak,
Just funny scene, caught the herd of the goat going to pasture through your campsite.
I have heard that the people in deep in the mountain use the dried goat's dung to warm their babies. The goat ia an indeed useful animal.
Best regards, Hisashi
