This is posted for Claude. (clodreno) After seeing his photo yesterday, I was transported back to Southern India. I then spent a few hours looking at old dias and scanning. I am going to try a short series of OLD India photos, from my previous life. :) 1975 - 1984.
This was taken early morning from a cargo boat, travelling the backwaters and inland lakes of Kerala, near Quilon. I particularly like the depth here.

Tech: Scanned from colour slide and dust brushed.

Hi ELain,
I love the mood of this photograph. Very soft and peaceful.
However I think that you could enhance it a lot by tring to no centered the main subject like you did with the boat.
Nevertheless, the light, the colors are really beautiful.

a very pure image, giving me a sense of peace. it must be wonderful to travel on those backwaters. I like the palm trees in the back, looking like an oasis dream. the whole image looks like it came from a dream.

This is simply magical. I really like the depth as well...the palm trees in the distance add a lot to the overall quality of this image. The way you framed the boat works wonderfully as well. It might be a little too much in the center, but I kind of like it like that (at least in this instance). Well done.

Beautiful catch Elaine, may be the boat is a bit centered in the framing but it doesn't bother this superb landscape. The atmospher looks so peaceful, I like the man with the big rod.

Such a Gorgeous Beuty Elaine.. i like the boat and the boat man too..Kerala is always a favourable place for me.. It is called " God's Own Country" here in India.. I liked the commanding of blue here.

Beautiful setting, great the island and trees backdrop. Though I think, conventionally, that I'd have preferred the boat rather less central here.

Hi Elaine, wonderful tones, object a bit centered, but no problem. The row of palmtrees is very nice. I like it so much, that there's an almost endless view in this one.
But I also like your note, that happens to me quite often as well, that you dive into your own pictures because of something you see, I like that very much!

This is a beautiful shot with such a soft bluish colour of water, the boat with those three men and the coconut trees in the backgroud. There is a feeling of piece in your picture and that has made it simply nice!

Thanks a lot Elaine.. Very nice scene of the backwaters. nice to have the dof, very nice background.. Love it. I wish I had my slide here and a scanner too. Hope to be there in Kerala next december..

a very beautiful composition... I love the blue of the water in this... just wondering if the composition would have been any better without that boat... also the tree line abruptly ends on the left... may be you shd have modified ur frame to capture a bit more of right to keep the tree line continuous...
