Time of Pongal is always a time for Merry in TN...
Every hamlet, every village is full of colours & Joy...
Along the roads on the rural side you can see every temple coloured up & in process of a "thiru vizha" or Annual celebration. "Thai piranthaal vazhi pirakkum". Regardless of the caste, creed, deity, all temples & places of worship are alive with Life...
Here is the local "Koothandavar saatu" with people dancing for "Aravann" or "Koothandavar" around the "Saatu Kambam" Early Night.
I particularly, Like the Array of village life these festivities bring out. The Local "Minor" with Flashy Shirt, Active youth or the "Elavattam", merry making Toilers with a pint of Booze, Elated kids all dancing around the Drummers or the "Melakaarar", with general village folk watching the merry... |

I like the energy in this shot, Prem. The flash of course plunges the far people indarkness but still there is movement, there is life! Good note too.
