Passage to India: Cranes Photo

Photographer’s Note

We were going from Jodhpur to Jaisalmer by a side way because I wanted to see the temples in Osiyan. After visiting the very interesting temple in Osiyan, our driver told us, he had a surprise. We went through villages, by bumpy roads and it was difficult to find the right way. A few times we had to go back. But when we finally reached the place, we stood stupefied: we saw a blue field - full of demoiselle cranes. I haven't never seen something like this before. There were hundreds, maybe thousand of them, standing. I approached them very slowly, with my camera ready, but in one mome nt the began to fly. It was a marvelous experience. I hope you like it.

Une superbe prise de vue,l'effet de tous ces volatiles en action est remarquable et crée un image dynamique.
Bonne capture où l'on peut observer les différentes positions de vol. C'est bien vu.

Hi Malgorzata,
Very beautiful birds! Are they having their winter stay here? Do they nest somewhere else like all the cranes we have in Sweden. "Our" cranes fly to Spain and Morocco for winter and return back to Sweden in March-April. I like this picture, you have captured a lot of wings here!
