A yak grazing in Yumthang valley. Located in the north Sikkim at an elevation of 3,575 metres, this valley is covered with rhododendron shrubs and trees of various species.
The valley is well known for its hot springs, which are slightly saline in taste and are believed to have high therapeutic values. The water of the spring emits sulphurated hydrogen gas and its temperature is 106 degree. The water of the spring with such composition is believed to be beneficial for skin diseases.
