Kerala - Vizhinjam - A boat docked on the roof of the church

It’s not a real wooden boat but the lower part of the statue of Mary and Jesus.
In the centre of the christian fishing village Vizhinjam you find the ‘Church of Our Lady of Good Voyage’.
Can this church live up to its name any better and wish the fishermen a safe journey than by showing a boat on its roof next to the tower?

PS: Visiting churches in the south of India also means taking off your shoes and leaving them at the entrance.
Just like with Hindu temples and mosques.
