Photographer's Note

After the Blue City (Jodhpur) and the Golden City (Jaisalmer) I decided to look for one of the Pink City - Jaipur
Unfortunately, I don't have an overview of the city, but I can assure you that all the buildings have this color that you see here, on the most famous monument of Jaipur placed in the urban center:

HAWA MAHAL, or the "PALACE OF THE WINDS"

It was built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, and designed by Lal Chand Usta. It forms part of the City Palace and extends the Zenana or women's chambers, the chambers of the harem. Its original intention was to allow royal ladies to observe everyday life in the street below without being seen.

It has five stories and is constructed of red and pink sandstone, highlighted with white quick lime. This side, the one that is facing the street outside the palace complex has 953 small windows, and the breeze (hawa) which circulates through these windows gives the palace its name, and keeps it cool even in hot months.

There's even a Theme in TE, so this is my contribution: a closer approach, with the inclusion of those two men, that seem to be just hanging out.

UPDATE

After some critics I decided to upload two alternatives in WS. One vertical option and a wider view, with the sight of the street.
