Photographer’s Note
On top of the big big building at the Hemis monastry.
The next day I was sitting along side a french girl when one of their bigger trumpets 12 foot long decided to follow gravity and land in between us. Totally ruined the trumpet and would of totally ruined ours heads had it hit them. Anyway what a view.

Hi Simon,
Very interesting picture of Ladakh. Composition is interesting with the two monks facing the village down. Unfortunately, weather was grey and colors are washed.
Regards,
Pierre

I like the way you framed this with the three golden pillars, and the two monks really add a lot to the interest of the shot. I also like the way you captured them looking out over the landscape instead of looking into-camera.
It's a bit of a shame about the blown-out mountaintops, but it doesn't really detract from the image that much.
Sadly I never made it to Hemis - I'll have to go back!
Cheers,
Ben
