[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
The Jayalakshmi department store is one of the largest stores in Ernakulum, the mainland part of Kochi (Cochin). Here one can find thousands and thousands of saris, and salesgirls prepared to model them, as seen here, while the customers sit and watch.

Technical: Some cropping, levels, brightness increased.

Hi, Daniel!

Interesting shot... very dynamic. You seem to have had some technical problems though. The image seems a bit blurred and that bothers me. I like the composition though. I like the splitting of the image by those shelves and the two girls facing in opposite directions but the right directions, each of them toward the center of the image. I like that a lot, but what actually matters most is the information you try to put out and that's been done.

Hello Daniel.
It'a very interesting picture and note.
It resembles a kimono store in the Japanese department. I felt that a sales system and the atmosphere of the shop were similar.

I like the contrast between the irregular shapes and the action of the girls in their similarly colored uniforms, the color of the fabric, and the square corners of the shelves. It makes for a lovely contrast. Though I wish you would hav ebeen able to capture a slightly higher POV.

Hello Daniel,

I'm glad with your first visit to my gallery.
Today I look to your gallery and found different good pictures. I chose your last post for the colour and the excellent composition with the ladies, it's always very difficult taking image in movement, but you did very well. Thanks for sharing.

Best regards,
John.

very good capture of women in action. though the lady at left in foreground is little blurred and does not help the composition very well, i like your pov. well done & tfs.

best wishes,
arjun

I really like the composition here, and you caught a good moment as the one girl raises the bright turquoise fabric. However, the sharpness isn't great - although I like the slight motion blur in the salesgirls. I think for this to be a superb photo the depth of field should be at either one extreme or the other - either using a wide aperture to bring the salesgirls into sharp focus and throw the shelves of saris into a blur of wild colour, or a narrow aperture to bring the scene into good focus (ok, this probably wouldn't be possible in the shop interior without a tripod), and also keep some of the movement in the salesgirls. Also I think you could lose the white line at the bottom of the shot. Just my thoughts - hope you don't think I'm being too presumptuous!
