We had taken an overnight houseboat ride on the Kerala Backwaters, and the owner then invited us to lunch at his house. This is a photo of the kitchen.
It's actually about 1/3 of the original photo, but as I was studying it, I found myself more and more fascinated by this one corner - the play of light on the walls and the pewter-like metal pots, the lines of the stove and counter, and the late medieval European sense of it all. So I decided to offer it up this way.
Oh, yes - the lunch was excellent. |

Very cool shot. Looks like an impressionist painting...and reminds me of still-life drawings i would do in art class as a kid. What's up with the small blurry spot in the middle of the shot?
