[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
This man was harvesting coconuts for use at the hotel kitchen. With a strip of plastic between his ankles he skimmed up this tall tree in a few seconds. Hanging from his belt was a sharp blade which he used to trim some dead leaves then chop the coconut and let them fall to the ground. A minute later he was back on the grass. In around 5 minutes he had cut and gathers a whole sack which he lifted onto his head and carried away. A very fit man.

Hello Murray,
Very good shot, well composed. It would probably be better if he didn't look straight into the camera. I can detect some shadow noise, esp. on the face. Local NR would help. Regards,
Hakan

Amazing how fast they can climb up isn't it. An excellent capture showing a very different daily life than I'm use to. I love all those green leaves! :)

Hi Murray,
Did you try drinking the coconut milk ... it is refreshing. Well timed action shot ... I like the way you caught him in this position. Good contrast and image quality. Well composed! tfs and Merry X'mas ... hope you enjoy the festive season.
Cheers,
Renier

They are very fast climbing the tree, aren’t they? I have seen the same type of thing in West Africa. The guy was really looking at you and I believe he just slowed down to give you the chance of a good picture. The filtered light is very good and the all pic very sharp. Well done.

Bonjour Murray,
Excellente compo, une prise bien nette, les couleurs et la lumières est bien rendue, cet homme est bien représenté sur son arbre, bon POV.

Je vous souhaite de bonne fêtes de fin d'année.
Amitiés,
Rosa.

last time i was in the philippines i asked my nephew to climb pick up some..he might not be as expert as this guy but he was able to "satisfy" my cravings for some young coconuts we call 'buko pandan'. now, i miss it.
excellent capture but as one delkic was saying, it would have been much better had he not look to the fotographer....the shot would have been very realistic of daily India life. i see some noise as well..but a minor issue.
merry christmas!

Hello Murray,

You excellently captured this scene under different, mixed light conditions.

I like natural pose of man while climbing to tree.

I wish Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Regards,

Ertugrul
PS. Thanks for your critique to my door to Atlantic Ocean photo. Yes you are right fishes are incredibly bigger in muddy rivers then others.

Hello Murray,

A great photo. We saw large monkeys doing this in Thailand. It is an effective photograph, plenty of good detail; I like all of the palm fronds in the background. I also think you have captured the expression of the man well, and his gripping stance. I only wish more light was on the man, but I assume this would have been a zoom and a fill flash was not possible. It is a great shot tho.

Well done.

Matt

Hi Murray,

The expression of the man going up the coconut tree has been captured well by the photographer. The point of view is showing a lot of details. Thanks for sharing.

Pierre

Murray, les conditions de lumière n'étaient pas des meilleurs mais tu as su t'en tirer de belle façon. J'aime le graphisme et les couleurs des palmes ainsi que le portrait de l'homme qui va cueillir des noix de coco.
Jacques
