[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
Keoladeo National Park and bird sanctuary is in the middle of Bharatpur, a town in eastern Rajasthan. It was once the hunting preserve of the local maharaja, who had diverted water from nearby irrigation canal to keep this area wet all year, attracting more birds for him to shoot at. (A plaque, which I didn't see but which is written up in Lonely Planet, says that on 12 Nov 1938 4,273 ducks were shot.)

At any rate, it's now a national park, and the birds still come - though it had been a drought year and we didn't see as many as we might have. Cars are not permitted; roads like the one in the picture are for walking only. (It's a small park.) So when I saw this scene, I didn't have to worry about being run over as I took the picture. (Although a few spotted deer did run across the road just after; see the workshop.)

Technical: Sizing to TE requirements.

Hi Dan,
How nice to post this. I was there in 1996 and the whole park was crowded with Storks, a really wonderful view. Seeing this it brings me back to that place and time..thanks for showing it. The path gives a good nice feeling and mood to the image...very nice.
Have a great new year..!!!
Henk

Bonjour Daniel,
une photo à l'ambiance brumeuse tout à fait spéciale, un genre d'atmosphère que j'aime beaucoup et qui n'est pas toujours facile à restituer.
Excellent cadrage.

Regards.
and best wishes for 2008.

Daniel.

Hi Daniel...nicely composed shot. Very balanced with nice soft tones of color.

Hello Dan! With the shadows framing the picture, the path and the misty atmosphere, you have created a very nice image. I like the line of trees on the left, their dark shapes still distinguishable in the mist, finishing with that tilted tree at the bottom (tilted to the left as if closing the line). I feel the humidity in the air :-)
Good work! TFS and happy New Year!
Inés

Dan, you certainly captured an exquisite atmosphere here and the fact that no cars are allowed here makes it even better. The main post is already very good, but after seeing the WS I almost tend to ask myself why not the WS as the main post or even as an additional later.
Cheers, Peter

There is lots of mystery coming out of this picture, the soft light, the mist, the trees with so interesting shape. I love the ambiance. You did an excellent job here.

Hi Daniel,
The beuty of road is really tempting as Shaeri already said in her comment. The framing makes it more beautiful and alluring.

I love this one Daniel, for its mystical atmosphere, there is a masterpiece picture shot by oochapan using same ingredients ie trees and kind of fog, i invite you to have a look at this pic.
This opened fence is the must here, kind of an invitation
Very nice

Bonjour Daniel,
I like this photo which reminds me an illustration of a book of tales because of its very mysterious aspect.
It also reminds me the painters of XIX e century as Corot and those of the French school of Barbizon.
Bravo
Diane

Hi Dan
I feel attracted to this photo, as technically, it presents many difficulties, where you succeeded in getting a good mood from the filtered light and the play of shadows, composing tight, and keeping details in the shaded area.
Well done.

Thanks again for your help.
Have a good week
Charles

Hi Daniel,
What a beautiful scene. The tall overlapping trees really frame the winding road nicely. Leads to you to the open gate... as if it's inviting you in. Excellent work and TFS.

Excellent atmosphere thanks to the soft light your preserved while shooting and the vegetal frame. If only I could enter that path ! Excellent technical realization.
