Sling That Baby
 |
|
| [Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe |
I caught this street scene in Jaisalmer, a city out in the Thar Desert not far from the Pakistan border. I was intrigued by the (to me) unusual method of carrying a baby, as well as by the colors, which, as is so often the case in India, are fantastic. The cow didn't hurt, either.
Technical: Convert to Lab Color, then Unsharp Mask on the Lightness channel. Convert to CMYK before converting back to RGB, to clear out-of-gamut colors. |

Hi Dan!
Awesome shot showing all details, the gunny bag,the cows face ,the colors , overall a good capture!
Daniel: this is the standard modus transportandi for these joghi women and their children. I don't remember seeing others with the exact same method. Nice note. regards, c
Nice compo and vivid colors.
I would crop the right arm of the lady in the left.. tought..

Hi, Dan,
you have so many nice shots, but I liked this one (having a new grandson to pack around). Poor woman. Nicely composed, good light and color and very sharp detail. What a way to haul a baby around. Excellent daily life shot. Thanks and kind regards,
Shelly

A very interesting daily life scene. I too love the bright colors! I have never seen a baby carried like this! I would think the wooden poles would be painful. Very nice framing including the head of this cow. Very beautiful! TFS and have a wonderful Sunday!
