Presenting a conventional POV of MT kanchendzonga(8586 Mts) from (3636 Mts)during sunrise..practically the first shot on that day of the massif after it recieved the first rays of the sun.

I am posting this shot with a heavy heart because of a sad news which I recieved few days back..The beautiful place called Dhotre from where the trek starts for Sandakphu got gutted totally in a forest fire on the 8th of FEB..it was under the forest reserve and was becoming the best alternative to manebhanjan to start the trek for Sandakphu.I still feel the dense jungles and the chirping of numerous birds all around me when we start the trek from Dhotre but they are all gone..!!it has become a hill with burnt trees and a scene of total devastation..!!! The trek will surely start from there as the route is still ok but the ambience is gone..thats the saddest part..!!! The reason being humans again..!! somebody forgot to extinguish the fire which was lighted for getting some warmth and the wind acted as a catalyst towards the forest fire..!!!

We surely have to realise and maintain certain rules when one is in the jungles or forest as one tree takes atleast 30 yrs to go to its normal height but takes only few hours to turn into ashes...same as Humans..!!!! so its always better to realise than being sorry later..!!!!!

Hi Indro,
Very sad to hear about Dhotre. We have to be careful around these places and cannot afford to be so reckless. Totally agree with you on this. Going back to your shot, again a stunner! The golden light falling on the massif is a treat to the eye. Thanks for sharing.

Shaeri

Hi Indroda,
A fabulous shot again. This is an incredible view. The first rays hitting the massif. A delight for people like you and me and many others.
Its a real pity to learn about the forest fire in Dhotre. I think its 'Paradise Lost'. Does the trekker's hut still exist?
Regards,
Sagarneel.

Hi Indra. Rejuvenating indeed. Colours got redefined through this perfect blending. Excellent shot judiciously matched with a beautiful note. Yes, Indro it is through art and art only that the realisation of perfection comes. And you got it right. Regards.

Hi Indranil!

What a splendid shot of the beautiful mountanious range from Sandakphu glowing brightly under the influsence of the first morning sunlight, and all your pictures of this particular region makes my longing to be there as soon as possible ever increasing. But,all this was a little marred and as I was deeply saddened to hear what happened to the forest reserve earlier this month.Makes me wonder, how long would it take us humans to be serious?
Anyway, thanks for your share and your heartfelt note too.
Regards
Paul

Its really sad that dhotre is in ruins !! Its the kind of people that went there who are responsible! I have also seen a lot of people throwing plastics around while in trek tounglu from dhotre... Its really a pitty that we Indians are responsible for the destruction of such a beautifull place!
But what about the treker's hut?? Is it also damaged?? And that small settlement consisting of two or three houses??

Great photo and colour, Regards, Balwant

Hi Indranil

This is the way to present Mt. Kanchendzonga, a gold lit mountain. A very good composition and a lovely color. Hoping to see new ones.

Regards,

Lopshang

Delightful! You've got some nice poster material here

Hi Indranil,
It has to be a total delight to see such a spectacle by getting up. The centring is original (the frame also) and really very successful.
Congratulations and best regards
Diane
I understand your emotion by learning the news of the fire which ravaged the forest. These destructions are revolting.
