[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
Jodhpur's Mehrangarh Fort's history is related to Rao Jodha. He became the fifteenth Rathore ruler in 1458. One year after his accession, Jodha was advised to move his capital from Mandore to a safer place. The one thousand years old Mandore fort was slowly and gradually deteriorating. This led to the foundation of Mehrangarh Fort.

The history of Mehrangarh fort has no mention of being vanquished. The invincible fortifications are six meters thick. This magnificent Jodhpur fort is a living testimony that recounts the chronicles and legends of Jodhpur's rich past.

As one walks up the sloping path along the fort wall, the magnificent exteriors of the palaces come into view. In fact I could not, but wonder & be astonished at the contrast between the stolid strong fort walls with the delicate trellis work of the palaces. The fort houses at least 4 palaces -
Moti Mahal (The Pearl Palace), the largest period room of the Mehrangarh Museum. It was built by Raja Sur Singh.
Sheesh Mahal (The Hall Of Mirrors), has beautiful mirror-work. It is superimposed by the mirror-work of brightly painted religious figures made in plaster.
Phool Mahal (The Palace Of Flowers), is one of the grandest Mehrangarh Fort period rooms. It is believed that the Phool Mahal was a private and exclusive chamber of pleasure.
Takhat Vilas (Maharaja Takhat Singh's Chamber), served as Maharaja’s residence during the time of his reign. The Maharaja was the last ruler of Jodhpur to reside in the Mehrangarh Fort.
Jhanki Mahal (The Peeping Palace), from where the royal ladies watched the official proceedings, going on in the courtyard.

The exterior fine lattice works & the jharokas (a projecting balcony with a domed or vaulted roof) of the palaces can be seen on the left. In the foreground is a Fort resident with a traditional Rajasthani turban. He had been requested by a tourist to take his photograph & so on close examination, you can see a camera in his hand. The inside wall of the fort can be seen to the right.

Angshu,

good perspective and note concerning the Mehrangarh. I have been there too, interesting place, with accurate audio-guide explanation (in Italian too!).

The intricate carvings of the architecture are indeed amazing and must be wonderful to see in reality. We can see by the roadway that space is limited but you have made good use of what was available to make this perspective composition. Very good light management in a difficult situation.
Well done

Hi Angshuman

Superb sharpness, and a marvellous warm vs cold colour opposition, between the red facade of the temple, & the blue sky. The people, including the photographer, provide scale. Tfs!

Hi Angshu,
You cleary put a lot of thought into framing this shot and it is very effective. Shooting on the diagonal allows us to appreciate the fine detail of the laticework on the balconies, Looking down the long walkway and including people gives us a sense of the large size of the place. Light management and detail are excellent. The note is great, I especially like the way you explain the POV.

Thank you for your comments on my tribute, my sisters and I celebrate our good fortune often.

Hi Angshumann
You`ve cut the legs ;). But I`m not sure if this is so important. Great perspective along the road with impressive architectonic details. Good light.
Regards

Hi Angshuman,
I like your setting and the great depth of image, the splendid architecture, and how you have managed the light to obtain a splendid result with the shades.
Beautiful photo, very dynamic and with a great quality of image and of colors.
Best regards, my friend,
Josep

Hello Mr. B,

I look forward one day to spending a few hours photographing your world with you. You know the most exotic places, and the very best angles. In the highly informative note, you create the historical backdrop for Mehragarh's Fort, making the scene more than just a beautiful photograph depiction. The composition, perspective, light and shadows, colors and resolution — all collaborate to make this another memorable photograph.

Warm regards, and enjoy Sunday.

hi Angshu

Very good view of architecture of fort with fine carvings and features of artwork. Good pov and composition although I find the title is about photographer but his feet were cropped out?

TFS, bill

Olá Angshu, another marvellous picture. I know so very well this place and yet, I just got strucked by the beauty of it. Was this so beautiful s I'm seeing it here? - I have to go back to my Indian uploads :))) The light is great and the details on the façade are amazing. I remember these residents also. I agree that he his a good inclusion, specially because of his turbant adding color. It's a good perspective and I love the winding shadow at right. Excellent work my friend.
All the best,
ricardo

Hi Angshumanda,
The architecture is truly spectacular and you have captured a different POV compared to the conventional front on view. The turban stands out nicely in the backdrop of the wonderful architecture.
Well done,
Shaeri

Ola Angshuman ,
Que lugar fantástico magnífico este templo de uma arquitectura muito bonita , gostei do fotografo em primeiro plano , boas cores, parabéns!!
Um abraço Gonçalo

The perfect quality shown the beauty of this building's architectures and even the shadow on the right make it more impressive, a well presented Angshu and thanks for the note too.

Hi Angshuman,

The details of the red sandstones are wonderful and the perspective is great - now the turbaned Rajasthani tourists are shooting too, maybe will he join us on TE ?

(Strange that after so many years (15 to 20), I remember so clearly this alley near the entrance of this fort - so impressive that one cannot forget it - there used to be a snake charmer there and also a guy with fantastic moustache, singing if I remember well...)

Compliments,
Best regards,
Cath.

Hi Angshuman!
Are you sure he isn't shooting something to put on TE? He seems really concentrated. I like this composition with the photographer in foreground and the fort is amazing, with so many details, a wonderful monument.Great pov and colours.

Angshu, you have a nice touch. your pictures give the scenes a surreal touch and in some that is important, detachment. The detail and color in this one are great.

Greg

The lace-like details of Rajastani architecture is so beautiful, and with the use of uniform red stone, makes it even more attractive, nice angle, and the streets are so spotless clean.

Hello Angshuman. Hard to imagine in close by how intricate is the design of this building. Nice perspective with narrow lane and the sharpness of your capture is brilliant. Thanks for sharing and best regards. Jusni

Hi Angshu.
Cette photo est intéressante pour ses couleurs et pour la belle architecture qu'elle montre. Les passants donnent une animation et l'échelle des monuments.
