A shot of Mt kanchendzonga from Darjeeling at around 0530 hrs. Taken on print then scanned and presented after 9 years...Out of the numerous shots of the sunrises and sunsets on this great mountain..this one stands apart as it was taken with a zenit cam whose back lock was not there and I had to strap it up with tapes everytime i filled in a film in it..!!

This was taken from the viewing gallery of Hotel Sinclairs sipping pure darjeeling tea and chilled out winter ambience..!!

Mt K does not fail to amaze me all the time I even get a glimpse or a view of this mountain....The first light on this mountain is a sight to behold which cannot be described in any words and the feelings of a person being a witness to this sight can only remember it or suggest it but cannot share it to its fullest glory ever..!!!

Enjoy...!!!!! the rise of light on the peaks of god..!!

Hi Indro. Got enlightened really on viewing your Darjeeling Delight. Wonderful scene majestically captured. The saffron and the pale green perfectly juxtaposed. Since currently I am and shall remain in Kolkata, I feel tempted to make a trip to sip the beauty. Regards.

Hi Indranil,
Massive mountain range where the sunrise light makes beautiful warm toned zigzig line between deep blue regions of mountain faces and sky. Great!

Yeah. I would like to be witness to the scene as it is and I hope it could be true as i am going to India in November this year and Dajeeling is the hot spot of my travel... As You said it was taken from Hotel's Sinclair viewing gallery - so is it worth to go to Tiger Hill ???

Leave 'dgonga' alone some time atleast . Even it needs its quota of peace . Good things bring delight but its like sugar if you have more you would become patient of blood sugar .

Jokes apart its a nice photograph even if the red glow attributes some what to photoshop.

As usual a good pic..from Indro.
cheers,
PD.

Hi brother,

This great shot of Mount K compelled me to write few words in praise of the shot and eye behind the lens. The morning light falling on mount K is so beautifully presented by you that this sunrise shot of great K become extraordinary. Keep posting numerous views of the great K.

Hi Indroda,
Though this one has great resemblance with 'Ecstatic exotica', this is Mt. K...so this should only be adored.

Sagarneel.

Beautiful picture, Indranil! The contrast is excellent, enhancing all the details on the nice mountain. Well managed! Congratulations!

Excellent shot ;)

Hi Indranil,

very beautiful shot... Great light.

Chhers,

Loïc

A poster perfect shot, Indranil, and an excellent quality scan. I am wondering though why you uploaded this at only 167kb. There is a slight patchiness in the sky (I expect there is a technical term for that but I don't know what it is) which would probably have disappeared if you had used your full 200kb allowance. A beautiful photograph nevertheless. Cheers . . . David
PS: Sorry to hear about your car accident - those Indian roads can be nerve-wracking!
