Er lopen veel mensen rond die zich voordoen als Sadhu, maar in werkelijkheid gewoon bedelaars zijn. Denk dat de echte zich niet zo in het openbaar willen laten zien, ligt nogal gevoelig naar wat ik gehoord heb.
Maar heilige man of niet, dat rood en geel knalt hier mijn huiskamer binnen, prachtig.

Hello Wanda! I can imagine that you enjoyed the ceremonies, maybe even taking part if it suited the situation or maybe simply enjoying them. We are loosing too many rituals in our culture but I guess they would actually be important to keep unerstanding who we are. The colors are amazing, strong and beautiful. Fascinating indeed. Indeed, a beautiful shot, Wanda!Some of these rituals are very old.Benaras(Varanasi) is an ancient city, the holiest of them, per Hindus.It is also amogst the oldest seats of learning, a cultural hub for Indian Classical music and Dance, as well.

It is true , most of the Indians start their day with a prayer. Some say it at the small prayer room they have in their home, and some say it while travelling... in the car, bus or train.

Nice image of Varanasi streets.

Hi Wanda!

When I have hit the button to go on your gallery, there was a random photo of Vietnam red flags.

Now that I look at your latest post - glad that you're back... - I see the same colour palette of vibrant red and yellow.

I like how you have frame this man, off-centred and with enough space in front of him. Although he is leaning on a wall of the same colour, he detach himself easily from the contrast between textured wall and plain bold shirt.

The all-over warm tones work perfectly together to create a high-impact image.
