[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
Taken in Bangalore, at a fruit and vegetable market.
The light was very bright this day - as it was around midday, but it has meant that an interesting and high amount of light is reflecting off their skin. I stood out a bit in the local market where not many foreigners go, but these brothers were more than happy for a photo. It's never hard to find willing subjects in India.

I've done work in photoshop but after trial and error of many processes I don't remember the exact workflow. There were a lot of layers and masking involved - with techniques such as gaussian blur on the skin, high pass filters to bring out the edges, sharpening and contrasting the eyes, brushing in multiple exposure edits of the photo, darkening the blacks and boosting the highlights.

We can see there is quite a bit of pp in here but let me say the end result is very good. It would be interesting to have a look to the original shot.
Antonio

Cheers David!

Beautyful!!

Rolando

Hi David,
The amount of effort you went to to present this image is well rewarded with this superb capture. Sometimes post can be such a saviour.
Lovely expressions on the faces of these two boys, wonderful capture of a special moment in time.
Cheers
Peter

Hi David,
fantastic double portrait!! Their faces are so expressive. Very good framing, but I must write that I prefer the version from WS, without PS work! Great shot David. Thanks for sharing.
Best regards,
Andrzej

Hi Dave
Excellent work, the ranges between shadows, mid-tones and highlights are nothing short of superb with excellent skin tone colours. The faces are very expressive, with first rate definition, especially in their mouths and eyes.
Cheers
Jim

Hi David, great photo with super soft skin tones. Very nice colors and contrast.

Superb double portrait, I can see indeed that there is a lot of PP but I like it a lot that way !
Congratulations, looking forward to seeing more of this (their way of looking at you is really great !),
Cath.

hi David

Very nice portrait with such a strong expression. Very good capture, I must say. It looks like coal miners with smeared faces.

Although I prefer your WS original without pp work which looks more natural and I always prefer that.

But both are good work.

tfs, bill

I think both images are equally good. I don't object to PP work at all and the result is good, but then so is the original. The boys both have very intensive stares which you have captured so well; somehow enhanced by the catchlights in their eyes. The tight crop works well for an intimate feel. The only thing I would say is I would have wished to have the younger boy's chin in shot. Did you send them a copy?
Kath

Hi David,
Beautiful double portrait. Very good colors, sharpness and lovely expressions. Well done.
Best regards.

Hi Dave. Your PP work has paid dividends. Great portrait. Nice natural pose and good balance. Very nice and thanks for sharing.
Have a good week, Paul.

Hello David. Very good framing for the brothers. The tight crop shows more details of the expression. Good shot and thanks for sharing. Regards. Jusni

Hello David
The quality of the original is very good & the first thing I noticed was your PP has enhanced the twinkle in their eyes. Like your tight crop for the double portrait. This could have been shot in Shivajinagar, Russel Market...would you remember?

Hey David,
I love this shot with such a tight crop squeezing them both into the frame. Great expressions and direct eye contact. Your pp work has created a nice effect where the shot almost looks more like a painting, but I like the original one too.

Wanda

Hi David,
Excellent double portrait, with nice luminosity and colors. Very smooth texture, which i like did you 'neat imege' it or something?
Best regards

The PP makes it a little unreal but so great for the brotherhood mood.
And the guys look really cool, friendly and simply great.
Very well done, cropped and PPed.
Stéphane

Great portrait David
