Photographer's Note

Experiencing the backwaters in Kerala is truly one of the most relaxing part of a trip to India.

We had started our journey in the North of India, where the weather is pretty harsh at night, where the streets never give you any break from the constant noise and state of alert of not being run over by a rickshaw, a car, a cow, or a motorcycle.

The South of India is cleaner, the temperature is perfect all year round and the people seem to be more relaxed.

After a bit of hassle finding a houseboat and getting them to stick to their commitment (they wanted to be paid all in advance... a good operator will accept part of the payment at the end of the trip... choose wisely!) we were on our way to two over-relaxing days.

In the morning, some local kids were just having plain kid fun bathing. They were overexcited when I asked if I could take some pictures of them! I was happy too that they accepted my offer.
