Stairway to mount Bromo
The view is toward mount Batok with the morning mist that still cover the Sand Sea. The highest point of the mountain ridge behind is the viewpoint of mt. Penanjakan.
_______________________
Mount Bromo (Indonesian: Gunung Bromo), is an active volcano and part of the Tengger massif, in East Java, Indonesia. At 2,329 meters it is not the highest peak of the massif, but it is the most well known. The massif area is the most visited tourist attractions in East Java, Indonesia.
Mount Bromo sits in the middle of a vast plain called the Sand Sea (Indonesian: Lautan Pasir), a protected nature reserve since the year 1919. The typical way to visit Mount Bromo is from the nearby mountain village of Cemoro Lawang. From there it is possible to walk to the volcano in about 45 minutes, but it is also possible to take an organised jeep tour, which includes a stop at the viewpoint on Mount Penanjakan (2,270 meters). The best views from Mount Bromo to the Sand Sea below and the surrounding volcanoes are at sunrise. The viewpoint on Mount Penanjakan can also be reached on foot in about two hours.

Ciao Luca
Walking up to the volcano must be an experience as well, at least you can choose between stairs and flat & steep. It also looks rather cool or cold, what is interesting for a country like Indonesia. You have captured the morning mist beautifully! Congrats. Very nice composition of this great landscape. Despite the side sun light you produced vibrant colors and high sharpness. Well Done

What a striking image, Luca!
Java has always been high on my list of travel destinations - I feel I have almost reached it with your photo. The intensity of the fresh light and the high POV overlooking the scores of stairs and serpentine pathway below practically forces the viewer to take a step back and catch his/her breath. We are also privileged to have been afforded a view of the majestic Mt. Batok in the background, looming over the intrepid travelers below. Great framing and sharpness. Well done - thanks for sharing.

Hello Luca,
A photo well combining a lot of interesting elements, brought together with good depth : the trekkers, the horses in the background, the eroded mountain, the layer of fog...
Well done.

Paul

Hello Luca,
This photo is a bit broking the myth of the wild nature in Indonesia with all those people and with the stairs :-)
It is the first time I see this point of view for this famous volcano.
A very good composition,
Yves.
