[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
This will be my last picture of the temple of Batur; Someone paying respect to the deities at the main altar.
I'll be posting more on Indonesia, but mingle them with uploads of autumn in the Netherlands ;-).

The temple of Batur was previously located near the south western slope of mount Batur.

The destructive eruption in 1917 ruined the temple and the head of the village along with the villagers brought the surviving shrines to higher grounds.
In 1927, the people of Batur rebuilt Ulun Danu Temple which once lay at the foot of the volcano. Most of the 285 planned shrines are yet to be completed.

A map of my second photo day on Bali can be found here.

fantastic colours and detail, love how the deities seem to be watching closely the praying man to see of he says all the right words :) but the empty center of the shot distracts me a bit, the eye sort of "falls in" and the main subjects are left for periplheral vision. I admit that's a matter pf preference, but I guess I'd try a different POV, although it might ruin the feeling of close interaction.

I'll still give the photo 2 point though, I definetly like the story here.
best,
Kristine

A pretty nice shot here Dennis, one I could well imagine myself taking. A few things though. First, his face is a little too red on my monitor. Second, I wish you could have found a slightly different angle as the base of the pillar below his nose and chin draw my attention. Finally, I am not sure that his face is sharp. It looks just a touch soft to me, although maybe the photo is just a little too small instead. A nice shot and the colours really pop.

Hi Dennis,
a beautiful image from the prayer all in white (is he a Hindu priest, he looks still too young, but who knows) in contact with the Gods. Nice colours, nice composition.
