Photographer's Note

This photo is from a boat trip from Lombok to Komodo and Flores, islands of Indonesia. These islands form an archipelago Nusa Tenggara. Alltogether it took us 4 days of sailing with lots of adventure and experiences. As we reached Komodo National Park and its islands, our boat was approached by smaller boats of local fishermen. That is why you can see small part of our white boat from where I took the picture and a piece of wooden boat where the boy is sitting. He was so curious and looking at us while his father tried to sell small wooden souveniers ...

very nice child portrait shot...like his curious expression with his innocent eyes...nice play of light on his face...
good DOF controlled with nice color contrast & sharpness...

hello Zuzana

unusual high POV for a portrait, but when reading your note, we understand. I like the anxious look of this boy, well lighted by a laretal light but I would have cloned the white blurred part to get a better image.

Hi Zuzana,

a portrait with a story that adds insight
If you had cropped from the top it would have emphasized the expression even more
the white part of your boat in the bottom is a compositionally good element

I'll make a quick WS to experiment my thoughts
