Borobodur at sunrise, the morning mist still on the ground.
This Buddhist stupa is the largest Buddhist monument on earth built between 750 and 850. The structure was covered under thick layers of ash after an eruption of Mt. Merapi in 1006 (the mountain on the left covering the rising sun, 2914 meters high and again in news because of recent eruptions). Borobodur was forgotten and rediscovered in the 19th century. The site is restaurated now and open to the public. A fascinating place!

love this morning moment, great!! Taw

Hi Sascha
A great moody shot. The soft mist is a good contrast against the sharp silhouette.
Cheers

Interesting photo of an almost phantasmagorical setup...

Even so I think there are 3 things that could be improved:

- the horizont line is a bit tilted, I think (this is a minor one, easy to correct)

- the exposure; in my oppinion I'd rather have the nearest part of the buiding pitch black in order to have the sky less blown out than the opposite

- the sharpness; this would probably require a tripod... I always carry one for landscape photos...

P.S. Even though probably only a few gifted ones would have noticed that in the field, while you can do something about it, it would have been better to try to find a different POV in order not to include that electricity post in the centre right... maybe hide it with some part of the building.
