[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
Kelimutu is a volcano, close to the town of Moni in central Flores Island of Indonesia containing three summit crater lakes of varying colors. Tiwu Ata Mbupu (Lake of Old People) is usually blue and is the westernmost of the three lakes. That is the one that you see here. The other two lakes, Tiwu Nuwa Muri Koo Fai (Lake of Young Men and Maidens) and Tiwu Ata Polo (Bewitched or Enchanted Lake) are separated by a shared crater wall and are typically green or red in color, respectively. The lake colors do vary on a periodic basis.

The usual thing is to organise transport from Moni up to the top to see the sunrise. If you are unlucky you will see nothing but clouds.

It is an amazing water colour and a very good POV. Well done.
Antonio

A very spectacular landscape, with such a bright blue. The cloud adds some sort of mystery to the scene.
Very fascinating
Regards Stefano

What a nice shot Stephen. Very nice green color and the fog. The beauty of volcano. Well done and nice frame. Sothy

Hello Stephen,

When I see your picture, I feel like if I was there. The point of view is really good and I like the fog (or clouds) above the lake ; it gives a touch of mystery. The lake's color is amazing.

Hi,

Very attractive photo with first the strong blue-green color of the lake and second for the clouds coming from the top left. It is increasing the feeling of wilderness of this landscape.

Yves.

Hey Stephen,

I don't have enough words to say how beautifull this picture is, and in fact I don't have a thing to critisize about... The picture is perfect!!!

TFS,

Itamar

P.S. There is maybe one thing, please consider to change the inner frame color from azure to white.

Hi Stephen You mention maidens, young men and old people, but what senses here is the transience of human life and the immense presence of nature. Superb POV and magical mood aided by the soft clouds. Regards. Klaudio.

What an eye-full scenery! Magical atmosphere, exotic beauty, my friend! Thanks to the chosen viewpoint you created a terrific frame! The colour is fantastic and the place so attractive!

Thank you very much for posting.

Take care,
Athanasios.

Hello Steve, A very interesting & spectacular scene, I like the colours they are quite rich, I would expect them to have been a little suppressed by the fog. The fog adds some mystic & interest to this scene.
Well done
Santo

Once i went to Flores island and saw these amazing three colour of the Kelimutu from airplane. You have a nice pov to capture this amazing nature with perfect framing and of course your simple note about the place really help us to understand the picture. Well done Stephen, tfs.

Alfred

Hello Stephen,

The point of view adds interest to this dramatic scene of nature!
I notice the amazing colour of the lake, looking like the glacier lakes up north...
Well framed and good details!

Greetings,
Pablo -

Stephen,
Fantastic, atmospheric dip into one of nature's little oddities - well, maybe not so little - the scale is a little difficult to judge but, if that's a downside - it's the only one.

Regards
Colin
