Mudik means back to home town. This word is special terminology used for back to home town to celebrate Eid Mubarak in the home town with family and relatives after one month fasting.

In country like Indonesia where public transportation is poor, many low class people going mudik by riding motorcycle for hundreds kilometers. The poor discipline and careless are the major problems to create accident that increases from year to year.

A familiar story in your note, Irfan. Poor (or rather: not rich) people on the motorbike being increasingly threatened by rich(er) people zooming by in big cars. In your picture I like the telling expression on the girl's face: as if she can't really take any more it...but is too tired and too helpless to do anything about it.
