Photographer’s Note
I have been to China town in Kobe for a several time. And this time on my way back to my home in Nagoya, I stopped by in the town for shopping.
It was pretty crowded, very active, was good for photography.
I initially aimed on the foreigners in the background but I saw this guy holding the pan above his head, so I hurried to take a few steps back and shot this. I took one or two steps too backwards, I wish I could rewind the scene and shoot again.

i think this photo has a lot of potential had you tilted it some.
i was attracted to it as a thumbnail but upon blowing it up, i found that it missed something.
otherwise, i really like the natural lighting in this pic.
thx for posting.

Hi Lauryn, You did find a good angle from the vendor point of view to see the street. Good capture of the busy street with the large crowd and the highlight of the food with the group of light to focus on them. It is funny to see the guy holding up the Chinese style wok to show the Chinese cooking here. I enjoy this picture. Thanks for sharing.

Hiya Lauryn. A nice and vivid scene from Kobe Chinatown, where the guy carrying the pan and the walking foreigners are just two of the many interesting details. Vivid colors and nice atmosphere with the lights. Not a bad idea for a photo like this to just stand in an entrance and waiting what happens in terms of scenes and motives passing by.

I remember when I went there. I was pretty disappointed... I thought it was a big place to go but when I finished walking the street I understood that was all there was. I wished there was more streets.
You're right about the fry pan man. It would have been a very good picture. Anyway, I love your pictures with blur. That's somewhat part of your style, even if you wanted this one sharp. :)

Hi Lauryn,
A nice dailylife documentary. With you shooting the shot from the side I can feel the movement of this place. Good sense of perpsective with that person carrying a big pan and 'smaller' ppl behind him.
Have a nice day:)

Hi Lauryn,
It's nice how you caught all these people walking past the food stall from the perspective of one behind the food stall. And look at all those light fixtures, by the way!
Nice shot!
