Photographer’s Note
Here is Kobe, I went there yesterday with a few friends beause I had a friend who wanted to meet her friend and decided to invite me the day before leaving because she knew I had a day off.
Back to Kobe.... this has to be the best place in Japan, the people are so friendly here, the sculptures, the buildings, the best onsen (Arima) night views, I simply adore this place.
A bit of history for you:
Facilities at the port of Kobe, Japan, destroyed by a magnitude 7.2 earthquake on January 17, 1995, have been fully restored.
The red tower on the right is a 108m high, Kobe Port Tower's red structure stands out proudly as a well-known symbol of Kobe, providing a panoramic view of the Port, Rokko mountains and across Osaka Bay. At night, the tower and adjaccent Kobe Maritime Museum create a romantic scene on the waterfront as you can see in this picture.
My friends had their wedding in the blue monster building and it cost around 30,000 U.S dollars, expensive huh?
Just to the right of the red tower is the Meriken Park. It was opened in 1987 to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the opening of the Port of Kobe.
Meriken Park is an attractive waterfront park on reclaimed land between Meriken Pier, the birthplace of the port. The Kobe Maritime Museum and Port of Kobe Earthquake Memorial Park are located in Meriken Park.
I hope you like it

Hi Dan. You've got some very distinct colors along that skyline which grab your attention. Without the good note we wouldn’t appreciate it nearly as much. Nice shot Dan.

What a beautiful night viw of Kobe, Dan. I like the architecture, which looks so fragile for eartquakes, although I know that they used the best techniques now.
The waddeing hall is amazing (like the wedding cost).
Congarts for the happy couple and for their skilled photograper friend.
Regards,
Y.

Hi Dan,
I did not imagine Kobe like this, that's quite a futuristic skyline, have all these buildings been built after the quake ? What makes this view nice is the variety in shapes and colors of the buildings, and your wide crop is excellent for such a view.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hi Dan, great to see a new one from you and it turned out a beautiful and crisp night shot, well exposed to show the different pieces of modern architecture in their different colorful illuminations. My initial memory of Kobe is the torrential rainfall that I experienced upon my arrival, but even under these conditions I agree with you that is is a delightful city, I liked Chinatown (from where zig recently posted some cool photos, check them out).

Hi Daniel,
Almost a mirror image, very lovely colours as reflections, the modern buildings in background care for a very nice composition.
Nice interesting note too, I learn again on TE!

Hi Dan, long time. I hope you had fun in Kobe. I have my sister in Port Island in Kobe so I feel familiar with this view. It is really good place to live depite of the accomdation fee is very expensive. The photo looks very sharp and colourful, and lovely reflections on the water. Then I noticed that you used a tripod.
