Photographer’s Note

Here is Kobe, I went there yesterday with a few friends beause I had a friend who wanted to meet her friend and decided to invite me the day before leaving because she knew I had a day off.

Back to Kobe.... this has to be the best place in Japan, the people are so friendly here, the sculptures, the buildings, the best onsen (Arima) night views, I simply adore this place.

A bit of history for you:

Facilities at the port of Kobe, Japan, destroyed by a magnitude 7.2 earthquake on January 17, 1995, have been fully restored.

The red tower on the right is a 108m high, Kobe Port Tower's red structure stands out proudly as a well-known symbol of Kobe, providing a panoramic view of the Port, Rokko mountains and across Osaka Bay. At night, the tower and adjaccent Kobe Maritime Museum create a romantic scene on the waterfront as you can see in this picture.

My friends had their wedding in the blue monster building and it cost around 30,000 U.S dollars, expensive huh?

Just to the right of the red tower is the Meriken Park. It was opened in 1987 to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the opening of the Port of Kobe.

Meriken Park is an attractive waterfront park on reclaimed land between Meriken Pier, the birthplace of the port. The Kobe Maritime Museum and Port of Kobe Earthquake Memorial Park are located in Meriken Park.

I hope you like it
