Photographer’s Note

Many Chinese work in Nankin-machi. Japanese tourists visit it to enjoy exoticism here. A shop of Chinese food is full of many visitors in lunch.
Appearance of a town changes completely with Thoan-mon as a border. The inside of Thoan-mon seems to Chinese styl, and the outside Japanese styl.
(Thoan-mon is entrance of a Nankin-machi. Nankin-machi is a name of a Chinatown in Kobe.)

However, a border of words is not same as it. Most of the words spoken in a street are Japanese entirely. It will be rare that you hear conversation of Chinese words when you walk a street.
There is the border on a counter of a shop. Women of a picture cannot almost speak Japanese. A visitor cannot almost speak Chinese in this reverse. Waiter in charge of order that can speak Japanese performs an order for dish. It is translated for Chinese so that they can understand it.
And they who are in charge of cooking talk in Chinese.
