Photographer’s Note
This picture was taken outside of Rokuo-ji Temple, where Golden Pavillion is located. The steps lead to the exit gate of the temple. I hesitated to post this picture since this picture was taken directly facing the temple goers. From they expression, I felt I was told that I was guilty of intruding their privacy.
Many candid people pictures in TE encouraged me to have this picture posted. I hope you would not mind my paparazzi-alike behaviors. I do know None of them on this picture.
In WS, I have posted another picture a few second before this one.

Wes I love the contrasting expressions in this perspective. I gather both the young lady and the older do not like their picture taken. The line of perspective up the stairs into the distance is a good choice. The Japanese are excellent builders. The concrete wall on the left shows excellent design in workmanship. Good work Wes!

Hi Wes
This reminds me of the steps to Doi Suthep in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I like the perspective. Well done!

Hi Wes. I think the one you did for the main post is the better of the two. I like the perspective and steps rising in the distance. I'm not sure if you broke a taboo but I like it. Nice one Mr. Wes.

Hey Wes
I don't know about this "candid" shot, pal.
At least this beautiful lady should show her victory sign at you when you are taking this shot. This will make this image much more "candid", isn't it.
Cheers and good day.
Hey, check out my first Macro shot. I will be dedicating the second one to you. Check it out.

Bonjour Wes,

Hi Wes,
She's his girlfriend and they are wondering if you are a detective :-) I too find street photos in urban areas a challenge, you saw he expression on my fireman which so un-nerved me it took 2 months for me to post. I notice that you also waited awhile to post your shot. As to the photo, I like the light and detail in your well-framed compo. I agree with Steve that this photo is more attrctive, I think it's the symmetry of the line of people that follows the line of the steps.

Hi Wes,
Excellent depth lines through the wall to left, also the horizontal lines of stair are very well. mooi image with the young lady and old lady on one line, maybe two generations different.
Best regards,
John.

Hi Wes I like the DoF very much and also their expression...they don't seem happy to be photographed! Lighting is good too (lights on her coat). But it'd be much better if you didn't crop their feet and would also be cleaner without that bit sticking out bottom left corner. Overall it works fine especially with the detail of trees and gate as background.

I feel like you Wes and struggle to take candid people photos as I think that it can be an imposition. That said, you have framed the shot well and included an interesting background.

Oh! If looks could kill! ;)
She really does not look happy to have her picture taken, does she?
Wonderful expressions on that woman and the man next to her.
Surroundings are nice... quite calming. It looks like a quiet and calm place to be.
I think you should crop more on the left, to remove a little object on the bottom left of the image. Also, image is a few degrees tilted clockwise.

Hola Wes.
I do like this type of pictures, the side walk going down hill then the stairs going up, it produces an excellent effect, very good perspective, I don't think they liked to have a picture taken, at least they don't look too happy about it. Both pictures are very good but I think this one has more perspective than the WS.
Well done and TFS.

Hi Wes - these 'candid' shots are somethign I don't feel comfortable about taking myself (although I enjoy seeing them!) so I can se where you're coming from in your comments.
The image is good, nicely composed with the people adding a bit of perspective & scale to the path & steps.

Hej Wes,
A very nice view on these stairs, they are well centered in the composition. I like the light and the natural framing by the trees too.
Good photo! :-)

Hi Wes,
Great capture of this temple exit. The people looks a bit surprised by you. At least you got some nice face expressions. The WS is nice too but I prefer this one that is a bit cleaner and better framed.
Take care

Hi Wes! Good candid shot! I'm sure they didn't mind! Sharp and clean shot! The way to the temple looks interesting - climbing up stairs and into the woods. Its fun actually doing some candid shots, I just borrowed a zoom lens and enjoy using it. rgds!

Hi Wes,
A candid shot indeed, and both clear and crisp. I think the most common expression of people, perhaps evident here, is one of apprehension. I like the contrast between the black and white coats of the ladies. The perspective is very good, as we can see far up the walkway, with good lines and graphism. Well done, Wes.

There's a marvellous sense of perspective in this shot. The image is of good quality and I like the facial expressions of the two people in the foreground. They look rather bemused!! Nice one.
Best wishes
