Bamboo Forest (1)
 |
|
| [Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe |
Maybe you've seen Chinese martial arts films where the good guys and the bad guys fight it out swaying through the tops of a huge forest of bamboo plants. So have I, and now I know of a place in japan where they could do the filming.
These plants are 50-60 feet high, at a reasonable estimate and have clearly been growing some time. Tenryuji is a village in the western outskirts of Tokyo, famous for a large formal garden. This bamboo forest is not actually part of the garden but is just outside it to the north west.
Very cool, dark and atmospheric place. Makes me feel a bit like a mouse in a wheat field.

Hi Alan,
You're right, I remember some scenes like that in martial arts movies. Good POV and atmosphere created.

Hi Alan,
great capture. It makes me even more eager to visit this beautiful place. Great POV with light and dark areas stressing the enormity of trees and character of smooth stems. Thank for sharing!
Best regards,
Jeri
