Photographer’s Note

I loved the small lake of Kol Ukok and the serene micro-universe formed by the mountains surrounding the lake. We've experienced all sorts of weather conditions within 3 days, but the last morning was truly rewarding. I got up early for my meditation, but first had to grab my camera to capture this idyllic morning

What a good title for a great photo. You've really controlled the composition perfectly. One feels overpowered by the mountain, as though this were life at the far end of the world. I really appreciate a picture that shows a way of life so different from my own. Great post.

What a lovely picture. Good title and great colour progression from bottom to top. Clouds effects increase volumes effects. The lake downhill is peaceful with camp close to it.

It's always great to see a shot of a lesser known country, especially if there is a good note attached and if it's a good one. And yours qualifies on all aspects.

Distribution of light in the image could have been better. Maybe you could have waited until the yurts caught some more light?
