Photographer's Note

Rivers still very much runs through the daily life of the Laotian people. They depend on the river for food, for water, for transport, for recreation, and in some remote villages, for access to the rest of the world. Luang Prabangs sits on the bank of the Mekong. In the late afternoon against a setting sun, boats would be carried by the mighty Mekong into town, bearing the day's catch, or weary travellers from Huay Xai, or tourists returning from a day trip to Pak Ou caves.
