When we were biking around Vang Viang, we saw this group of kids who had one bird each on their shoulders. The birds seemed to come from the same nest and too young to be separated from their mothers. Too bad for the birds, I hope they took care of them at least until they could fly to find food on their own.
Have a nice day!

I am, not sure who looks sadder the boy or the bird. Well composed. I like the DOF (of course) and the tones of the background blending with the boys shirt. I am surprised to see you shot at f/6.3.

A good portrait from boy and little bird. I like the way he look out side of frame with agitation appear in his face. Tanks for sharing.

Hi Skye, You have captured a very intense look in that little boy's face. I think that there are many adults never shown so much thought, emotion or sadness. I wonder what was on his mind. Did he maybe feel for that little bird on his shoulder - that isn't at its happiest either I would say. I like the framing a lot too. Excellent job! Sabine

Hello, Skye. A nice portrait with a very good DOF and framing. I like how you've left space to the left. I also like the harmony between the boy's T-shirt and the background. It's a pity he looks somewhat puzzled.

Nice portrait, I like the face & skin tones that stand out from the grey shirt and background.
The boy looks very worried about the bird, is it the case ?
Thanks, Al (back tomorrow)

Great portrait, Skye, and the close cropping works very well here. Excellent DOF and sharpness. Did you go to the market in Vang Viang and see the amazing variety of birds there (destined for the cooking pot unfortunately)? Cheers . . . David

A perfectly composed portrait, Skye. Subject off-centre, looking into the frame. Shllow DOF with a non-distracting background. Fascinating as well to see the bird on this boy's shoulder.

Yes Skye, too bad for the birds. I share your concernings about the animal life.
This close-up shot is fantastic with very great light and sharpness. The composition is very good with the kid in the right side, looking to the left side.
