| New Buddhas are being made at this temple's grounds. I was told they are shipped all over Laos. The form is bolted together from many metal pieces, then concrete is poured inside. When it dries the mold is taken off, and details are added. They smooth any rough edges, add a headpiece above the face. Many Buddhas were sitting in the sun, drying, the first time I visited. Some were painted, some plain. Visitors are most welcome in the temples in Laos. Buddha sits on a round ring that is cast seperate. |
