We were in a bus traveling, about to leave Malacca when the clouds opened up. It presented to us a beautiful sunset. Most of the American tourist shouted to the guide and the driver, “Find a spot on the side and stop the bus!” The bus stopped. There was only a narrow opening between residential houses and all of us packed that area to be able to take pictures of the sunset.
A little bit of Malaysian history - Situated in the heart of Southeast Asia at one of the world's major crossroads, Malaysia has always been pivotal to trade routes from Europe, the Orient, India and China. Its warm tropical climate and abundant natural blessings made it a congenial destination for immigrants as early as 5,000 years ago when the ancestors of the Orang Asli, the indigenous peoples of Peninsular Malaysia, settle here, probably the pioneers of a general movement from China and Tibet. They were followed by the Malays, who brought with them skills in farming and the use of metals. Around the first century BC, strong trading links were established with China and India, and these had a major impact on the culture, language and social customs of the country. After World War II and the Japanese occupation from 1941-45, the British created the Malayan Union 1946.This was abandoned in 1948 and the Federation of Malaya emerged in its place. The Federation gained its independence from Britain on 31 August 1957.In September 1963, Malaya, Sarawak, Sabah, and initially Singapore united to form Malaysia, a country whose potpourri of society and customs derives from its rich heritage from four of the world's major cultures - Chinese, Indian, Islamic and Western.

Excellent image Andre.
that sunset was extraordinary with that pink mood, and you captured it very well.

Oh!
Breathtaking picture.
For sunsets, you have to be lucky and this time you were.
One smile go to you, the other is for the bus driver.
Great shot, Andre

Nice sunset, very beautiful colours and interesting effect with these clouds. Well done.

Hello Andre,

I love all sunset around the world.
this one is beautiful.
cheers

Hai Andre, a very beautiful sunset in Malacca. Useful notes too.

Hi André?
Very nice sunset on the see, with the sun behind altocumulus. From my opinion, I would prefere to have a larger part for the sky to respect the rule of the thirds.
I was very interrested by your note about Malaysian history. Why Singapore is not a part of Malaysia ?
Have a nice day
JP

Sunsets... a bit cliche but almost always with magic colours - also here the colours are very nice, warm and pleasant, and they give me a positive feeling. I like the structure on the water and also the way the light of the sun is reflection on it.

Andre, this an excellent sunset with a nice red colortone over a rough sea, I enjoy this capture a lot.
Greetings
Henk
