[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
Hi all, it is some time since I've posted my last photo here. I've been really busy with moving to my new home and new work in Kuwait. I have to admit that I have not taken single picture since... horrible thing.. however as for Kuwait, there is really not much to take picture of. I've had a chance to travel around region a bit already, but the light was not simply right and the weather was too hot already. I really look forward for autumn when colors will be stronger, light much more friendlier and temperatures very pleasant.

I wanted to post this photo from my trip to Malaysia for some time. I've chosen this Kuala Lumpur shot as it is the closest to how Kuwait looks like. Just no hills around.. It was taken during rainy season, I really like that unusually looking cloud that is perfectly placed in the top left corner and is balancing skyscrapers in the right bottom corner. This photo was taken from the top floor of Hilton hotel.

I hope to be more active on TE in coming days.
Lucie

Lucie, how are you? You have to mail me with the news... :) Welcome back to TE! Great cloud formations on this one and amazing rainy atmosphere. The image lacks some contrast here in my work's CRT (the bottom layer is very foggy) and there is a slight blue cast all around. Actually, being a blue lover I quite like those tones. But anyway, I don't know if you took this behind a window or not, but the colors do seem a bit strange. Love the composition though; the dialogue between the needle tower and the giant cloud in the top left is really intense. Hope that you'll be more active on TE too. :)

Hi Lucie, amazing one, so different from many others of you, with strong light, sun and desert!
a good view of KL under a storm, an image that i saw not few times in KL when i was there...everytime it was raining!
excellent POV, good quality and composition.
thanks, ciao

Hello Lucie,
Nice to see you here around.
A nice composition under this threatening sky, I like the big cloud in the corner.
Regards
Didier

I like the composition and distribution of tones in this image, just perfect for cloud-lovers like myself :-) The blue-ish color in the sky is nice too. And great title, I can see the longhaired knight with cape attacking the city on his dragon.

Hi Lucie,

Kuala Lumpur is a tropical country. It gets a lot of "Attacks" and almost 80% in the world year.

I really love this picture especially the dramatic clouds over the city. Good shot!

Welcome back Lucie! I hadn't seen you on the site for so long that I thought you were gone, but I'm very happy to see you haven't forgotten TE. I'm also a big fan of clouds, and when they are right, as in this photo, they really add so much to the image. As you say, the cloud is perfectly positioned to balance the tall buildings on the right. I like the dark and threatening tone of the shot too - very appropriate. Great work, as usual!

Hi Lucie,

Nice to see you posting something again. Beautiful photograph, but the clouds really make this image for me, they're magnificent. I agree with a number of previous comments that whilst the blue colour is quite attractive, it does look a little unnatural too. Great composition with the triangular section of clouds in the top-left balancing out the taller buildings in the lower-right. Worth the wait :)

Regards,

Rich

You always find just the right compositions. You must have some control over the clouds because they are perfectly placed. They make those huge skyscrapers look so small. I like the overall blue look to the photo. Hope to see more photos from you in the near future.

Ryan

Hi Lucie, Nice dramatic scene. I too have worked in Kuwait but only briefly for 10 days in 1998 (or there abouts). Like no where else I had been before so I think people will find photos you take there will be interesting anyway. It is not a popular tourist destination but it certainly has a history that we all know something of, oh and there are some interesting buildings... I look forward to you bringing back some memories.
Regards Paul.

Hi Lucie, nice to see you back on TE...
Kuwait? hummm! was there back in... 1988! I must admit i did not make any photo back then and found them to be a pretty unpleasant people, especially at the border!!!
as for this shot, i quite like the heavy sky before the pouring down...the sky looks like a painting!
take care
Eric

Hi Lucie!
This is a good shot from KL.The closer view in the ws is great, too with these dramatic clouds.
Your image shows well the humid atmosphere of the city and the modern architecture.
Regards,Leo

i like it..

Hi Lucie,
Good to see you back here at TE! I'll be in Kuala Lumpur in the 4th week of August, hopefully with some better weather conditions. The clouds above the "low" skyline look fantastic from this high POV.
Well done,
Harko

Hi Lucie, it's a breathtaking city landscape - I do not know if it's right to compare Kuwait City with Kuala Lumpur - maybe to some extend yes.. tfs - Tomasz
