View of Georgetown, state capital of Penang (Pulau Pinang) from Penang Hill. Over the strait is mainland Penang ... also known as Seberang Prai (formerly called Province Wellesley) which is where I'm from.

You can either walk up starting from the Botanical Garden or you can take a funicular railway up. It was a day of intermittent showers the day this photo was taken. It think it rained every half hour, stopped, and then started again. However, the views were still quite clear. This photo was taken from the terrace garden of Hotel Bellevue. Found a nice cafe there to shelter & wait out the storm.

Hi Latiff ! excellent view picture!if also the time were ugly you have a picture of view very good. The city and the clouds and the background with the front green you compensated for the rise in the hill. Good work.
Georgios

Hi Latiff,
What an amazing POV. The combination of the city & the clouds and the green forecast is perfect,

Hi Latiff,

sorry not to follow your gallery as it should be. I'm traveling and not checking TE frequently. This image is such a great compo. Very beautiful to see the vivid green contrasting with the cityscape. The nature is very similar to what we have in Brazil. I like the natural colors and the details. Well done!
Regards,
Carlos

Woooooh what a great view!
Hi Latiff, the POV is very good chosen, and very good to include at first the green part from the forest, and the people's works.
The clouds are a nice effect here.
Have a nice time,
Evangelos

hi Latiff

I have been to Penang a few times and up this hill once but in a rush. Penang used to be known as 'small HK' and hopefully the future looks bright with good planning.

This is a nice view from high angle. I can imagine the night scene is even better. Good work.

Hi Latiff,
beautiful panorama shot with great POV and good framing,
TFS,
Dimitris.

Hi Latiff,
Seeing this one there was indeed a need for a longer focal lens and with what you have bought you have one of the best there is on the market. Although i like the view over the trees to the city, the first part could be left out to get closer to the town below and with the 70-200 you certainly can.
About the lens; 1/50 is possible from the hand if the IS is on. From the hand and making stillshots setting 1 is perfect. But if you want to go for sure you need at least 1/200 to get things real stable...matter of try and error to find out which setting you prefer.
Any questions, just mail me...
Regards, Henk

George

Hello Latiff,
the point of view of, on top, is perfect for a panorama so developed. I like to see the skyscrapers climbed the watershed of the wooded hills. Beautiful and good work.
Have a nice day

Hello Latiff. This view is breathtaking! You have captured the diagonal light beautifully creating tiers in the foreground in contrasting colors. The view is stunning with the skyscrapers and sea in full view. The low lying cloud making this a dreamy scene that you wanted to look again and again. Please allow me to add this to my personal theme and my favorite. Very well done and best regards. Jusni

At least Jusni and I and probably you, have crossed paths years ago when I was here back in 85/86/87 before moving to Sabah.

My guess is, you are still looking for that "feel' you easily get when taking western landscape, when coming to shoot Malaysia landscape. There's no "latiff" colors and wide open spaces indigenous to your Euro works. Your forte is high altitude landscape work and you are trying it here from the hill. But not with as much success as you would normally get, elsewhere temperate.

Still you have composed a work of contrast here, with a layer of concrete jungle and that of the real one.

Regards
Bani

Hello Lattif,
very nice panoramic shot of Georgetown with the white skyscrapers to contrasted perfect with the greenery in the foreground. In contrary with the intermittent showers the clearness of the atmosphere is good enough in order to see the far end background.Informative your note too.

Hi Latiff,

I see beautiful shots in your gallery... I've been a little bit absent of TE... This one is really interesting, with the two plans in the shot, the far city and the near vegetation. Beautiful colors and great perspective over the city! Well seen!

Greetings,
Angel.

Hey Latiff,

A wonderful view of Georgetown. A perfect POV, great clouds above - composed nicely all through. Wouldnt mind running carelessly through those forests. Until I meet a snake. :>

I wanted to comment a photo from your home country, hope you dont mind.

Best regards.
