Photographer’s Note

The entrance to Yolyn Am gorge in the south Gobi Desert. There are only 2 other uploads of this place on TE. You can hire camels or ponies, to ride the 1 km in, to the impressive icefields, deep inside the gorge. I walked.

I like the composition here looking through the gap between the hills with the animals grazing in the foreground. Nice ambient light and good colours and clarity. TFS.

An interesting selection of transportation means!
What is preferable, horses or camels...
A nice landscape has been captured from the beginning of this V-shaped valley, making me wonder what kind of adventure is aroun the bend..!

Beautiful place! For me it's unusual to see hills that are totally barren of all trees, but it has the advantage of allowing us to see all the folds and wrinkles in the landscape. Well done!

Here is a nice capture of the animals at rest in this spectacular environment. A good sense of depth, a fine blue and cloudy sky.

Hello Chris,

It impresses me that you often upload photos that have not been uploaded before on this sight, enriching the diversity of the gallery. This one is really interesting, there is a decent amount of colour and the lighting is good, but the animals are the real highlight. You can really sense here that a great journey is about to begin. The sharpness of the image defines the ruggedness of the hills very well. I love the blue sky ;)

A great low angle shot with these camels and horses in the foreground. It's hard to believe that there are icefields 1 KM. from where this photo is taken. Excellent angles shown here...

This could have also been taken in Kyrgyzstan (apart from the fact that the same camels would not have been shaven !), if it is close to the desert it is remarquably green !
