Photographer’s Note

As there are so few uploads of Yolyn Am Gorge, here's one more. Taken this time last year. The red dust on the ice, is from the encircling Gobi Desert. Yolyn Am is Mongolian for Vulture's Mouth, the shape of the gorge entrance. An incredible sight to see these 3 metre thick ice sheets, in summer, in the middle of the Gobi Desert.

There is a person at left for scale.

Well done. Thanks for posting, as I had no idea one could find such a place in Mongolia. The ice is quite intriguing. Great POV with the figure in the lower left. It really helps give a perspective on the size of both the ice and the canyon.

Interesting landscape detail,Although you took this shot at noon but it was clearly open the detail of cliff,Perspective of icepath made a dept,Still good composition and well story.Good work,TFS.

Your pov is great with the inclusion of the human element giving us a sense of scale how humongous this rocky hill is, it's great that you've captured an opening at the top with blue sky giving some balance in composition. Well done.
