Photographer’s Note
Angora Goats, just before sundown, on the main "highway" from UB to Moron. The wool is used for cashere / pashmina, & made into gloves, coats & scarves, for the long, cold, Mongolian winters. A lot is also exported to China, & probably Russia, as well.

Hello Chris. I like this naturl and very real view. Also the soft tones and simple character of the photo.
Some people lead really hard but simple life and the goats are all they have.
Great "reportage" photo from Mongolia which seems to be so far away and so inacceessible.
Kind regards, A.

Hi Chris,
strange models to present some kind of clothing :-)
Is it only a part or more the total herd? I like the view in the less light with the background disappearing and the motion impression of those goats. Was it the light or were they so fast as the sharpness of them is a bit less.

Hello Chris,
A very rustic scene with this herd of rather inquisitive goats in the midst of an immense landscape. A good daily life shot well worthy of TE.

Hi Chris.
I won't say it's one of your best, but it has a gritty documentary style veracity about it. Anyway, since you're so very close to the 50,000 points milestone, my critique might be part of the achievement! I suspect you took this one from a bus or a truck. These shots of Mongolia are filled with such an amazing amount of space.

Andrew

Bonjour Chris,
De quoi faire de jolis et agréables vêtements !
Même si la qualité n'apparait pas sur ta photo, c'est un bon document qui retrace la vie pastorale de cette région.
TFS my friend !

Bonjour Chris,
une photo difficilement cadrable , énormément de bestiaux et tu étais fort près. Et puis de lumières très fortes, peu d'ombres, ce qui fait que la photo est très lumineuse, trop même.
Regards.
Daniel.

Hello Chris,
Amazing number of goats here in the open field. Vast landscape against the distant hill. Good feeling of freedom and space.

Hello Chris,
This raises an important question now. I thought that Angora goats were found only in Turkey now your picture is instructing me in a different way. Actually the ones found in our country are white ( There are a few in your picture ) Your picture shows us the great steppes and a flock of goats in a diagonal row. Keep well Chris - Izzet

Ah, they are in Mongolia too ! I saw some in Ladakh, also in Tibet if I remember well... A nice group, I like the colours a lot ! (Here, maybe a bit more sharpness would be even better ?)
I like this kind of subjects !

Cath.

Merhaba Chris,
A very nice composition showing the angora goats, one hears of, but I don't think I've ever seen any in a color image. As a child I remember hearing that the name of the Capitol city of Turkey having its roots in the species of this animal. Considering the nomads who populated Asia Minor in the distant past, it may even be true.
Have a good weekend,
Bulent
